           City Of Hutchinson Island

From its sandy beaches, plentiful parks and magnificent waterways, to waterfront hotels, award winning resorts and suburb restaurants, Hutchinson Island has earned a top spot among favored locations for fun and relaxation. It's the reason why you came to Florida!
South Hutchinson Island, 22 miles of glorious sandy beaches bordered by two inlets, the Intercostals Waterway, and the Atlantic Ocean is one of the world's most natural settings looking much as it did in the 1800's when brave pioneers inhabited the island.
Visit an array of museums to learn about energy, underwater resources, antique automobiles or early Florida history. Observe endangered sea turtles nesting in June and July to gain a sense of nature's wonder.
Experience the thrill and excitement of
riding horses along the pristine shore of St. Lucie
County’s beautiful South Hutchinson Island
beaches. Enjoy the beauty of the surf, bountiful
seashore wildlife, and natural habitats galore. It’s
nature at her best. Nearly ideal weather conditions
year round have made Port St. Lucie and
surrounding areas a mecca for serious golfers.
Because of our warm tropical climate, tennis buffs
are able to hone their skills.
Hutchinson Island, is the "treasure" of the Treasure Coast- a name derived from the discovery of gold and silver from treasure laden Spanish ships wrecked in the 1700's. Located on Florida's east coast, Hutchinson Island is 45 miles north of Palm Beach International Airport, 120 miles from Disney World and Orlando and 75 miles from the Bahamas. Florida's Turnpike and I-95 allow easy visits to other areas of Florida. Hutchinson Island is easy to reach, but its pleasures and treasures make it difficult to leave.
With nearby Stuart being known as "The Sailfish Capital of the World," boating and fishing have long been considered the area's favorite sport. A look at the map will show why. Blue marlin, cobia, kings, Spanish mackerel and blues visit our shores--sometimes quite close in. Huge sword and sailfish are being taken off shore. The river and surf fishing please those who don't want to go offshore. Boaters can travel north or south on the Intercostals Waterway, out to sea, or down the South Fork of the St. Lucie river and the St. Lucie Canal to Lake Okeechobee and then on to Fort Myers, a delightful 135 mile trip.
It is obvious why so many are attracted to this haven...the land, the sea, the rivers, the open spaces, the climate...an unmatchable combination.
